Two companies, doing two different things.
The platform operator and the lender are separate legal entities with different roles, agreements and regulatory footprints.
Develops, owns and manages the Affordability and Deduction Management Platform. It is not a credit provider and advances no credit. It earns collection fees from the financial service providers accredited to the platform.
Registration 2017/085300/07. A registered credit provider in terms of the National Credit Act 34 of 2005, NCRCP9773. Reset Direct provides consolidation facilities to employees on payrolls governed by the platform, as one accredited provider among others, on the same terms as every other provider. Its lending platform went live in October 2025.
The group governed payrolls first and expected the banks to come and consolidate the employees already in difficulty. They did not. Reset Direct was established to do that work, as a separate legal entity, so that the company setting the rules and the company lending under them are not the same company.
Yes. Reset Direct (Pty) Ltd was formerly TRU Finance (Pty) Ltd. The change is a registered name change at the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission. The company, its registration number 2017/085300/07, its credit provider registration NCRCP9773 and its financial services provider licence FSP 53772 are unchanged. It is the same legal entity under a new name.
Yes. A registered name change does not affect existing agreements. Any service level agreement, deduction mandate or credit agreement concluded in the name of TRU Finance (Pty) Ltd remains valid and enforceable on its own terms, and continues with Reset Direct (Pty) Ltd as the same legal person.
It is not legally necessary. Employers who prefer their records to reflect the current name may request an addendum recording the change, and we will provide one.
